The Ghana Institute of Freight Forwarders (GIFF) has demonstrated its commitment to giving back to society through a generous donation to the Ho Leproserium and the Childrens Ward of Ho Teaching Hospital. The donation, which took place on 28 November, 2024 is part of GIFF’s corporate social responsibility initiative aimed at supporting vulnerable communities.
The donation included essential medical supplies, assorted drinks, toiletories, food items, personal care products, cash amount of 10,000gh which was in fulfilment of the request made on the association by the centre to help them settle their overdue electricity bill which has been a thorn in their flesh. The items were carefully selected to address the specific needs of the Leprosarium and the Hospital
The leprosarium, which provides care and help to people with Leprosy received a significant portion of the donation. The Administrator, Mr Nelson Atito expressed gratitude to GIFF for the timely donation, which will go a long way in supporting the leprosarium efforts to provide quality care to its members.
The Children’s Ward of Ho Teaching Hospital, which provides medical care to children, also received a substantial donation. The matron Madam Mary Kutsui and Doctor in charge Dr. Danyo thanked GIFF for the donation, stating that it will help alleviate some of the challenges faced by the hospital in providing quality care to its young patients.
The President of GIFF, Mr Stephen Adjokatcher who led the delegation to present the donation, emphasized the importance of giving back to society. “As freight forwarders, we recognize the critical role we play in the economy, and we believe it is our responsibility to support vulnerable communities,” he said.
The donation was well-received by the hospitals’ staff and patients, who expressed their gratitude to GIFF for its kindness and generosity.
